TEHRAN -- In the Colombo’s Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on Wednesday, Iran beat Japan in the final game of the 7th Asian Boys’ Volleyball Championship.

Iran defeated the Japanese team 3-0 .The scores of each set were 25-19, 25-13 and 25-17.
The team has already been crowned champion three times in 2001, 2005 and 2007.
Iran had previously defeated Japan, Thailand and Kazakhstan in the group stage. Iran also swept Kuwait, India (two times) and Sri Lanka in the next rounds.
This tournament is also considered as a trial for selecting the top three teams to qualify for the 7th World Cup Boys’ Volleyball Championship to be held in Milan, Italy in May next year
